I've learned over time not to box myself into one area or another, so I was stoked to do an Avant Garde shoot with model Crystal Gonzalez. After discussing our ideas and overall concept, we got to work. Allen Jones was on make-up and Maritza Barraza was on hair. Although Crystal Gonzalez is only 16, she has recently become a model to work with in the Atlanta, GA area and beyond. She has been featured in numerous magazines and publications and even walked in Paris during fashion week. Now it was my turn to capture her. Exactly one month from the day I shot her, our images were published. What makes it even more exciting, is that our work is published in Ellements Magazines, which is one of the magazines I had my sights on. #dontstop

On a blazing hot summer day, why not cool off basking in a beautiful body of water? One of my favorite places to shoot is in some form of water. Anyone can use a studio with controlled lighting and air-conditioning, but who is willing to go into a river that’s about 45 degrees? Our model was one of the few that was willing to. She has the ability to make anything look pretty simple. With a background in dance and theater, her posing, poise and presence is impeccable. Allen, our Make-Up artist did a phenomenal job insuring the makeup was natural and blended well, considering she posed topless. This lineup of imagery, showcasing our model was published in Uncovered Magazine. The first time I saw their magazine, I knew I had to get in there. (Challenge Accepted) The work they select for their magazine and site is beautiful, tasteful, and timeless. Well we did it and I have all intentions of doing it again. #dontstop

I had the pleasure of meeting Kelli about a year and a half ago. Our schedules just didn't allow us to connect and create until recently. The MUA Allen Jones had an idea to create a dress using plastic bags and lace, and it worked like a charm. This series was actually supposed to be in color and I'm in love with them in color, but on a whem I decided to change one to black and white and submit it to Dark Beauty Magazine and it worked. I have included the color image below. I hope to show you more images from this series soon.

Ms. Jean-Baptiste nailed it. Seriously, nailed it. I'm happy I was able to get her published into Pump Magazine which happens to be her first magazine publication. I'm sure she had no clue she would later be able to purchase a magazine with her beautiful face in print. I was determine to get this editorial published. In all reality, I didn't have to do to much work. The teams collective work spoke for itself. I was even greeted with a very pleasant email explaining their desire to publish them. This shoot started around 2am, after we had just finished another shoot in downtown Atlanta. Long hours and hard work never fail. Let's see what we can acomplish next! #dontstop

We took it to the dark side, with a patch of yellow. There is always a bit of excitement to see your hard work in publication, but even more exciting when it's the first time you meet the model and designer. A great team effort resulted in another publication in Flawless Magazine. Courtney Thomas and Kash Kouture came over, then we tossed around a couple ideas and Allen started to create the vision. With her antithetically designed make-up and hair, Courtney rocked a custom made piece from Kash Kouture and allowed her posing to fit the scene. I love to take a model out of their element, some make it happen, and others don't. Well Ms. Thomas was a win!

Paint me Pink with Hope with Candace Harris

For quite some time, I tried to think of ways to contribute to Breast Cancer Awareness. I could do the typical thing and just write a check or make a deposit on www.breastcancer.org and be done, but that wasn't enough. Thankfully, I haven't had anyone close to me affected by Breast Cancer but several of my friends have. I wanted to make it personal and allow others to be creative along side of me. I came up with the name "Paint Me Pink with Hope." Actress and model Candice Harris was ready to be apart my campaign I presented to her. She felt it was for a great cause, and since I informed her "this was going to be different," she was all in! From there, we proceeded to get messy, very messy but it was so much fun. Everyone included, walked away with a smile on their face, because we knew this was the beginning of something beautiful.

This campaign is going to be very interesting. I plan for this to be a long term and ongoing campaign to include men, women, boys and girls of all ages. You do not need to be a model to participate; only interested.

Simplicity at its best!

So often I capture with extensive makeup, overpriced clothing and wild hair, but every so often you have to go back to the basics. Although the shoot was quiet simple, there is nothing simple about Nashay Ray! She's a very proud country girl that will trade a luxury car for pick-up truck with mudding tires any day of the week. Ray's beauty as a model goes with out saying, but her beauty as a mother of 3 speaks volumes. When she's not wrestling her munchkins she places her attention on modeling. Although our first shoot had a beautiful level of simplicity, The Pennie Experience will be felt in the near future.

Summer was upon us and the Georgia sun was at its peak, and we used it to our advantage. Yet again....she was a gift to have in front of my camera. Working with model Sara Naomi is always a treat and never do we finish a shoot, with nothing to offer ourselves and loyal viewers. Collectively we styled this shoot, with the intentions of bright colors, floral greenery and fashionable accessories. It was pretty interesting to see how many magazines were willing to publish this editorial shoot. I decided to go with The Alchemist Magazine. Their magazines are full of stunning artwork and imagery that is timeless. Why wouldn't I want to have our creations amongst these other great talents? We used several locations for this shoot and they each helped to tell a different story within the editorial. So much so, that we grabbed the cover of Septembers Book 3 issue. I was swarmed with text messages from a very happy model when she saw her face attached to the cover. She deserved it. I hope to do this several time over with other great talents. So what are you waiting for? Lets shoot already?

I've never been an eye-candy style photographer. There's nothing wrong with it if you are but I'm not. The opportunity came to do a shoot with Brandee Cobb who will gladly tell you "I'm not a model," but really wanted to shoot in the attire. Funny girl. I agreed to the shoot and wanted to make it sexy but not raunchy. I wanted to be proud of my creation and give her what she was looking for. The shoot was a success by it self, but we I also able to get the images published in The Definition Magazine.

WOW! My work was recently published in Flawless Magazine which is an International Fashion magazine known for their high-end fashion spreads and amazing beauty photography. It's such an honor to be published along side these great photographers and models. This isn't my first publication with model Katherine Del Rosario and I don't believe it will be our last. With a wide assortment of eclectic imagery, we stand a chance for even more spread such as this one! I love conquering new territory, and continuing to elevate as I do so. I had a great team with me on the day we shot this spread and their hard work paid off. Great job all.
